From Bratislava, you just need to cross to the right bank of the Danube, for example, via the Lafranconi Bridge, where you can connect to the EuroVelo cycling route, which will take you all the way to Vienna.

On the route, you will visit several interesting places. The first is Hainburg, a picturesque historical town on the bank of the Danube, surrounded by hills with the ruins of a medieval castle.

The route runs alongside many branches of the Danube, and you will surely encounter cyclists coming from Vienna. These cycling paths are really busy on weekends.

Vienna appears gradually. The Danube embankment is full of people relaxing and engaging in sports. Donauinsel, a popular recreational area for the Viennese, stretches along the Danube. You can reach the island via one of the many bridges.

The cycling route heads towards the Reichsbrücke bridge. Here, you will also find a bike repair service. From there, you can head to the center of Vienna, which is easily accessible via bike paths, or set out on the return journey.

If you don’t feel like cycling back, you can comfortably take a train back to Bratislava from Hauptbahnhof. Trains run every hour, and transporting a bicycle is usually not a problem.
